2010 Teaching Public Administration Conference Business Meeting - May 15, 2010

The final session of the 2010 conference was the annual business meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Diane Komoto, 2010 Conference Chair. Some of the key decisions and discussions included:

  1. The symposia submission date to the Journal of Public Affairs  Education and the International Journal of Organizational Theory and Behavior is July 15. To be considered for symposium publication, all articles must incorporate the conference theme of "transformational service."

  2. Reviewers are needed for each journal's symposium volume. If you are interested, please send your information to tpac@gvsu.edu

  3. TPAC 2011 will be in Williamsburg, VA, May 17-19, hosted by Troy University

  4. Starting in 2011 the conference will be peer-reviewed. All proposals will go through the review process. Specifics will be posted on the conference Web site (www.teachingpa.org) and detailed in the call for papers.

  5. Starting in 2011 the conference proceedings will be published electronically and be available through the conference Web site (www.teachingpa.org).

  6. A stronger link to the conference needs to established with NASPAA. Several proposals were discussed.

  7. A specific mission statement needs to be developed for TPAC. This will be an action item for the 2011 Conference.
